Sid,
the details re permits are on the website under the whos who section, it not Ed anymore but a chap called Ian Leech. As for a route in until you get a permit you cant get in as they have secured the sight and you need a key ..
ring Ian Leech and speak to himand he will be able to tell you if there is still a waiting list.
hope this helps

Can someone help please - I am trying to find out what is the procedure for getting into Audenshaw Res regarding requirement for permit and the actual route in. I have driven round but cannot see a way in!!
Sunday 18/11 7.15 to 9.30 and it was bloody freezing
Goldeneye c30 Goosander 4 Med Pipit 4 G C Grebe 8 2 Sparrow Hawks over Pied Wags 8 around. 100 dunlin flew low over no 1 then went over the wall and down onto no 3 and just carried on going towards sinsburys
Had a quick wander round the field of king street and flushe 4 snipe, also had mistle and song thrush, redwing & linnet. ( do you still count this as part of Audy as it was before the motorway went through it ?)
Good to see Paul Heaton on Audi this afternoon, I'm sure Mr H will be an asset when doing the Gull roost in future, it will be handy next time a white winger drops in at dusk to have "ol' searchlight" Heaton on the scene! Might have to be careful with Air Traffic Control though as Audi is on a direct flightpath!

I tried for the Slav briefly between 13:00 and 14:30 with no joy.
2 Goosander and 2 Rock Pipit the higlights.
I did get intriguing views of a Golden Plover sp as I returned to my car.
Something flushed a flock of about 100 Golden Plover from somewhere east of Sainsbury's - they flew high and in to a fairly tight flock. At the same time a loose group of Lapwing flew overhead but I was alerted to all this by a continuous 2 note call - I heard it as a soft "tooo-eee". Looking up there was a lone Goldie flying around calling. It appeared to be in partial breeding plumage, and from what I could see had dark, not white axillaries.
I lost it but it flew over several times, loosely with the Lapwing and not joining up with the Goldies. I would have like to have seen it better, and on the ground.
