So far today at least 3 adult Mediterranean gulls in front of Horrock's hide showing wonderfully well in the snow and sunshine, at times displaying and calling. Also 3 little egrets flew over the spit and the regular 3rd winter yellow-legged gull still knocking about. Bitterly cold but one of the most beautiful days of the year so far.
In addition to Colin's sightings below the Iceland gull made an appearance later on. A fellow birder picked this up at distance but it showed well as it washed and preened. Also thanks to Colin for pointing out the the yellow-legged gull. Chris

Tonight at the Gull Roost with Colin Davies
Caspian Gull - 1 2nd Winter
Iceland Gull - 1 flew through and left SW at 5pm
Adult Mediterranean Gull
very few Larger Gulls and many seemed to be flying off SW rather than roosting,so there must be a roost somewhere not too far away.
The gull roost tonight looked like it was going to be abysmal with very few big gulls, but eventually we ended up with:
Caspian gull 1 2nd winter
Mediterranean gull 1 adult
Iceland gull 1 2nd winter
Pink-footed goose 40+ over north
The Iceland gull flew over the west bay and then disappeared to the west and wasn't seen again.
Kingfisher, Kidney Pond
7 Fieldfare, Western End.
2 Willow Tit
So far today:
Adult Mediterranean Gull
2 Oystercatcher
6 Buzzard
43 Pink-footed Geese over NW
Info thanks to Bill Harrison
Only thing of note in Roost
3rd Winter Yellow Legged Gull
The Roost has been noticeably smaller in the last week or so ,especially for the larger gulls. Not a large amount of large Gulls present tonight.
3 Oystercatcher present on the spit this afternoon.
