Meadow Pipits perhaps?
...Kristian I think in this case Neil is right. Your description of the wavey flight describes the undulating flight of the Pipits and Wagtails, and if you know what Pied Wagtails look like then they would've stood out to you, as would most of the Wagtails as they have pretty much defining features, being mainly colour. Meadow Pipit seems the most likely species and the most probable to go for. They can sometimes be quite dull looking in flight, only really appreciating their plumage when up close, but if you catch a view of the top of them in flight which again is a probable sight as they prefer to be low to and on the ground a lot of the time, then you would more than likely have seen the White outer tail feathers which can be quite obvious. You've not given us any colour, body or tail shape etc to work with so I'm going off probability off the one thing you have mentioned, the flight pattern. Hope this helps Cheers Rob

Just after first light this morning I was watching the Scottish election results coming in when I heard the "kivvik" call of a Tawny Owl in our Hale garden. There was then a big round of alarm calls from other species chief of which was a Jay which was diving at the tree where I think the Owl must have been perched. By the time I went outside the Owl was nowhere to be seen or heard for that matter.
