Also quite a few Ronins and Wrens about, and one of the Buzzards mentioned was seen worming with entourage of Woodpigeon and Magpie in ploughed field 24 .

The 3 adult Whooper Swan still present at 5pm feeding on stubble in west end of field 19, visible from permissive footpath north of the dismantled railway by Brookheys Farm

72 Skylark disturbed by a passing Sparrowhawk, then in flight for a while before settling around field 14,
3 Ring-Necked Parakeet over Brookheys Fm towards Birchmoss Covert,

Highlights:
2 Yellow Wagtails, briefly amongst the left over Carrot tops in field 1, Buzzard put them up and I lost them. 3 Wheatear , 2 males and 1 female field 1 1 Dunlin field 4 2 Grey Partridge field 4
Good numbers of Yellowhammer and Linnet flitting around the ploughed field edge 1 and the brambles along the track between fields 1 & 2
Every field I passed had Skylarks in and over so that was Fields 1,2,4, 10, 11,12.
Spoke to a cyclist, who had seen 2 Red Kites opposite the entrance to Utd facility, during the week pretty adamant and description was spot on.....I know one was seen over Partington last couple of weeks so possibly one of those pair.
Sadly by 0830 it was starting to become a haven for wanna be Mo Farah's and Chris Froome's so headed home for a brew
Not sure why they feel the need but dog walkers cutting right across field 4 , putting numerous Skylarks up..
Probably too early for the Moto X bike...

a little egret was in f34 whilst driving down sinderland lane, further along in the flooded field of 36 & 60 were a couple of hundred lapwings around.
23rd December.
there was hundreds of fieldfares with numerous redwings in the fields of 116 & 56.

From 1 - 3pm. around stubble fields f4 and f12/13.
Peregrine - 1. Buzzard - 1. Starling ,- c120. Fieldfare - c 50. Redwing - 10. Goldfinch - 6. Chaffinch - around 400+ ... very mobile between f4 and f12/13 so unable to do a count. And when motorcycles drove straight across f12/13 everything took flight and there must have been at least a 1000 birds in the air at once .... looked amazing !
