Come to think of it, what am I doing up here in this lousy weather - must have caught the Rigby virus
Must admit I had same thought on Sunday morning but then realised I have had the virus for years for these obscure venues. A glutton for punishment.
What's worse is that I used to walk to them all........................ now I get tired out going up in the car.................... pass the oxygen.

Brood of 9 Tufted ducklings with proud parents this lunchtime.
Is this an altitude breeding record for this species?

I noted 2 Common Sandpipers yesterday (Sat) evening. Also a couple of Twite and plenty of Lapwing.
Using the Roger Baker geographical system, this site should be known as "up the road from the Floating Light" but it's no longer a pub

Saturday morning had quite a bit of low cloud early on which might account for a fall of migrant Wheatear. I found a few up on Saddleworth Moor in places which don't seem like ideal breeding habitat (though I'd like to be proved wrong and add a new Confirmed Breeder for the Atlas!).
Cheers, Steve
