A quick look at the gulls that use one of the new pond areas produced a 2nd summer Yellow Legged Gull 63 Lesser Black Backs 12 Herring Gull 7 Black Headed Gulls inc one juvenile.

Managed to get around a lot of this big site, even though the map that I had got off the web, was hopelessly out of date.
Birds seen:
Blackcap....1 male seen, and then later sang from cover.
Chiffchaff...1 heard, and then seen down to 10 feet. One more heard only.
Wheatear....2 males
Skylark...2 above seen, but many more heard singing.
Linnet....5
Chaffinch...5 male together.
Reed Bunting....4
Long-tailed Tit....3
Lapwing....3
Pheasant...1 cock.
Jay....1
Buzzard....4 plus, seen more or less continuously over wide areas.

My first visit since 2010 when I saw the Shorelark. What a transformation. Great pathways throughout the country park. I didn't get all the way round due to lack of time. There must be at least 3 miles of pathway I didn't get down to the pool near the railway but still saw some interesting birds. As follows Pied wagtail x3 Wood Pigeon x6 Blue tit x3 House Sparrow x12 Tree Sparrow x2 in the hedge at the back of the farm near the Manchester Rd entrance Magpie x 4 Linnet x 12 Reed Bunting x 10 Skylark x10 Goosander x1 Pochard x6 all on the marshy pool behind the large warehouses. Meadow Pipit x 2 Blackbird x 3 Carrion Crow x 4 Black Headed Gull x lots Herring Gull x 3
