'Twas ever this as I remember when I worked on the landfill in the 1990s that it was an "exemplar landfill for new technologies". {Disclaimer as part my MSc I designed the liner for Risley IV sorry for being part of the pollution brigade} and we don't think it leaks as we get a lot of gas and there is another 5-6 years waste-gas-electric................{i.e. 2028/2030 still gassing off}.
......but turn it into a solar farm....no way....historically Cultceth was the cloudiest place in England, hence why the unbombed Risley ROF was built here.
Pretty much as the couple posts below. Sedge, Grasshopper and Reed Warbler on this evenings walk. Not had Reed Warbler here for many years. Redstart (m) just below car parking spot at J11. Traffic England Motorway Wardens said they will be moving peopleon soon from that parking spot as the new services require the [unbuilt] slip. Fairly Obvs really as the stub has been there for 40 years that there were plans to make a Nor'n exit / services.
