An even larger group than yesterday's 300 just went over Hale Cemetry and of course our house in an Easterly direction. Only got onto them from the calls as they were off in the distance - the strong wind at the time masked their calls overhead so couldn't get a better idea of numbers - but it did look a lot more than yesterday.

Hi Henry
I think they were almost certainly the same birds. I had difficulty counting them though as I was in the car at the time!
I suspect they were making much better progress along the M56 than the local traffic!
Cheers
Mike

4th October.
Visible from Piethorne but flying well to the south of the valley - probably over the Oldham area? - were 2 seperate skeins of Pink-Feet - c70 and c55 at 8.30 am. The two skeins were only a short distance apart and appeared to be heading south-east. The c70 is probably a slight underestimate as I only just caught the end of the skein as it disappeared out of sight.
Cheers,
Bill.
