Very windy here tonight couple of Common sand still around.
Appears as if some work has been done on the islands, water levels high but a few exposed areas of shore for waders, could be good over the next few weeks.

Please read the first line of the 'breeding birds on this forum' thread
July marks the annual gathering of Little Ringed Plovers at sites in the county and it would be a shame not to honour it on here. Sites such as Hope Carr have previously managed nearly 30 birds in July and they certainly didn't breed there! As long as we don't differentiate which are breeding sites and which aren't (remembering that any gathering will involve fully fledged juveniles by now) their presence at thus time of year doesn't necessarily indicate breeding at that site.
The ommission of all little ringeds during the 'breeding' season was done out of necessity at the time but in answer to your question, yes, for me atleast, that time is over. Obviously we still need to carefully consider what we posts about them though.
Thanks though Paul, the Rummy plovers were posted to initiate such a response

Its at this time of year that the failed breeding black necked grebe, from the main colony in cheshire or ones that have had thier young predated start to desperse again, and can be the best time to find random pairs anywere, and pretty soon its worth keeping an eye out for juvaniles also which seem to start leaving the breeding areas pretty quickly after they can fly.
