Little Woolden Moss Lancashire Wildlife Nature Reserve...we are so very lucky that the LWT have put so much effort into our Mosslands...without them such a wondrous Reserve and more would have been lost...this area was a Desert all but eight years ago...now it calms the spirit in such times as these...and will do beyond these days...a superb charity which I hope will continue to conserve and restore such precious landscapes...its not 'grim up north' its so special...and please never forget that...
Little Woolden Moss 1:15 - 2:45
Highlights:
9 fieldfares, 42 starlings and 250+ pink-footed geese flying overhead
Dead quiet on the water, literally nothing except three ruddy darters.
A family of stonechats - a pair and two first Winters - skittering about the Western edge by the nursery beds.
Five buzzards in the field by Little Woolden Hall, obviously bonanza time for earthworms.
