Hi all, had large flock of geese flying high, honking (on a mission!) above my house (west end, ashton under Lyne), flying towards NNE (towards Ashton town centre) Approx 75, I'm hedging my bets on pink-feet, thats what they looked like, but very high up so hard to tell. Could there be any other type big flocks passing through? Rae

21st December.
c90 heading north-west at 2.40 pm - seen from my Chadderton garden - but passing over to the south of my house. Heading for Bolton or Bury airspace?
Notice there have been a few sightings today for this species - mostly heading in the same direction. Presumably these are cold weather movements, with birds moving from E Anglia to the north-west hoping for better weather conditions? - think they might be out of luck?
Cheers,
Bill.
