Had a very noisy tawny owl last night in the wooded area next to us. A woodpecker this morning in the same area and yesterday a leucism crow in my garden which was a lovely sight.

Sad to report a dead juvenile Chaffinch on the patio this morning. Another window victim I presume.
Second one this week - dead juvenile Blackbird on the path under the front window last Monday.
We have had a dead juvenile Nuthatch the last 2 years as well.
The only window survivor was a Coal Tit last year. I cuddled it for 10 minutes or so until it came round and then flew off when I opened my hand.

Anyone have any tips on luring the goldfinches in to my Firswood garden? Favourite seed etc.? (I can't see what is in their feeders)
They always fly over and land on the feeders two doors down from me, but then never come in my garden. I get plenty of the other regulars but they still don't come. Such lovely looking birds, would love to have them to brighten up the garden!
Thanks, E
