After leaving Steve, I got the Grey Wagtail in the dam overflow channel as he said I would. There was another GC Grebe down that end making three in all. Also I managed to scope the flock(from the Ladybridge lights on Beaumont Rd.) Comprised: 60 Starlings 23 Fieldfare 5 Redwing and 2 Mistle Thrushes.
30 Fieldfare. 1 Great Tit. 1 Cormorant 2 GC Grebes 2 Oystercatchers(thanks guys) 9 Teal 13 Pochard ,2 fem. 6 Tufted Ducks. 100 plus BH Gull roost including at least 1 Common gull and 1 LBB Gull Few Coots and 1 Moorhen

10 15-10 45am lodge frozen solid, nice bright morning with a light snow covering good to be out except the birds didn't think so!
30 bh gull on the ice plus a couple of crows a few magpies and crows in the fields. and not much else except for a sparrowhawk over the reedbed. Three redwing in a garden on Beaumont Rd as I walked home.

This Morning up to 10.50 am. Lodge Frozen.
On the ice: 75 Lapwing circa 60 Bh gulls 8 Common gulls 4 Teal (pairs) 2 Carrion Crows.
On the Hawthorn: 1 Blue Tit 1 Kestrel .... male 1 Bullfinch ....male
Others: 12 Wood pigeons 12 Carrion crow 2 Large skeins Pink- footed flying SE Circa 300

This pm: Bleak midwinter. Lodge frozen but with large areas of surface water on top of the ice. On the lodge: 70 Bh gulls 4 Common gulls 1 Lbb gull 6 Herring Gulls 24 Lapwing 5 Jackdaws 3 Carrion Crow
Adjacent field : 30 Canada Geese Wood Pigeons/Blackbirds/Magpies. Close view of a Redwing in the Hawthorn was the only colour here today!
Nipped in this afternoon pretty much the same as Petes post, few extra Cormorants (13) BH Gulls up to 130, seem to be feeding in fields further up the road.
9 Common Gull 4 LBB Gull.

Must have just missed you Keith, saw some muddy human footprints!
Single male Ring Ouzel around the marsh at the bottom of the field just after midday, eventually ended up in the large bushes/trees in the marsh by the edge of the lodge itself. Also a single Snipe.

Around 11am today. Sunny
4 male Pochard 2 pairs tufted ducks 3 GC Grebes 3 Teal 11 Cormorants pair Mallards 28 Bh Gulls 2 Common Gulls 2 Lbb Gulls 30 Jackdaw 6 Lapwing A few Coots, no photographers, and plenty glorius mud.
Around 1.0pm today. Dull and damp turning to rain. Walking down............ A mixed flock of 80 Fieldfare and Redwing moving between the wet field and the hawthorn hedge. A few Goldfinch among them.
Through the gloom on the lodge........................ 2 Cormorants, pair of Tufties, 2 male Pochard 3 or 4 Teal , 3 Lesser Black Back and quite a few bh gulls. Mallards estimated at 25 and 3 Can. Geese flew over.

Saturday mid morning (at 10. am approx.) Some detail from 20 min visit:
Gr. Cr. Grebes 5/6 Cormorant 2 Pochard 7 Mallard : perhaps double figures Teal 1 Tufted Duck 2 Lapwings : flypast of 15/20 Snipe: flying party of 10 (all common) bombing round for a min or so. Bl headed Gulls - perhaps 20 or so, (no Meds!) Skylark 2 (over) Redwing 4 Reed Bunting 1 fem. plus common sundries (Wood Pigs. B'birds,Tits, Robin, etc)
