The 7 Waxwing were present on Kingsway Stretford as previously reported at 10.15 4/3/207.
Perching in tall trees on the north side of Kingsway and occasionally flying down to the apple tree on south side near entrance to Arndale Centre.
The apple tree with a huge number of apples on the tree was similar to the one at Hulme Garden Centre also used by Waxwing.

12:45 Same place at the Gym Car Park on Drury Lane, Oldham...about 12 - 15 flying in every 10-15 mins hanging around for a minute or two then off. You can photograph from no more than 10-12 feet away. Three very thoughtfully decided to spend 10 minutes on the telegraph wires next to the chosen food bush. Sunshine, blue sky, waxwings...

17 Waxwings still in the Drury Lane, Chadderton area but quite mobile. They were active around the berry bush in car park for the gym.com at around 07.25 then flew off to feed on buds/insects on Lonsdale Road. Returned to the berries after about 10 minutes then flew to a regular resting site behind the repair centre before coming back to the berries for another brief visit then disappeared for over an hour. A tour of the area with Mr. Ausberger failed to find them anywhere but they were back for a couple more visits when we got back. At least one bird is ringed white over blue on it's left leg.Still plenty of berries on the bush when we left. Nice to chat to Charlie Garrity between their visits.

Got a call from Riggers and joined him about 8 a.m. The birds stayed on the east side of Manchester Road until 9 a.m. feeding from time to time on buds/insects in the tops of tall trees around the area before being lost to view as I was moving between vantage points. They didn't head back to their favoured trees behind the Impact community church on Byrom Street but couldn't be relocated anywhere towards Limeside.

Flock of around 25 waxwings feeding on red apples in a tree almost immediately outside the doors of Stretford Mall on Kingsway? that becomes Edge Lane after the lights. Plenty of apples there so a good chance they will be back again tomorrow. Were flying to trees on the opposite side of the road to the Arndale, but generally un-phased by shoppers and heavy traffic.

A single bird was still there on Sunday 19th and as there are cotoneasters nearby, we may see them again. They were originally feeding on rowan in the churchyard.

As I left home at 08:00 today, I noticed a small group of birds in a tree on Woodsmoor Lane, Woodsmoor. I shot upstairs to get my bins and confirmed my initial suspicion; Waxwings, nine of them.
The tree is alongside a small opening in the road that gives access to the playing fields behind Woodsmoor Lane (SJ902875). The Waxwings are feeding on berries low down in a hedge at the back of the gardens, close to the entrance.
