As I was leaving a large mobile flock of Starling came in from the east. As they fed briefly I managed to locate 8 Fieldfare among them.
Spoke with Phil and for short time met with Steve, who had had a Little Grebe this morn.
Phil had seen the usual Yellow-legged Gull, and an adult Mediterranean earlier this am.

3w Yellow-legged Gull again at 11am today, along with an adult Mediterranean Gull.
Other birds included, 8 Snipe, 60+ Lapwing, Goldeneye, Pochard, 2 Shoveler, 2 Fieldfare and 2 Mute Swan scare .

Not sure if I should be posting here sorry Ian if incorrect. I was at Rumworth on Sunday there was a sign on the gate at Lostock to say they had a confirmed case of Alabama rot with one dog Fatality already. I think its just a case of washing your shoes if you own a dog which a lot of us do. We saw it after we had walked round don't know a lot about it really just know there is no known cure for the disease. Thanks Terry

10 to 11 am with Phil Rhodes. Cold and windy.
Yellow-legged Gull (3rd. w)...1 This is the semi regular( at present) morning bird. Good views, often preening. Legs seen several times as it stretched wings. Flew off at 10.45.
