In this evening's roost along with Pete Berry and Phil Rhodes:
The usual adult Yellow-legged Gull and also a first winter bird (a couple of poor phonescoped images of the latter on the website galleries of which don't portray just how advanced the bird was in scapular and wing covert moult!)
The usual adult Mediterranean Gull also.

Late report for Saturday morning (18/01/20): in a two hour mooch around I saw 37 species, the highlights being a kingfisher at Pengy's, 20 goosander, a little grebe, 4 snipe and 1 black tailed godwit at Ramsdale and willow tit and bullfinch at Bunting. Also on the flash were good numbers of great crested grebes and a few pochard and goldeneye.

Had a look at the roost tonight, not big nos of gulls ,but the roost did have a juvenile Iceland Gull which dropped in quite late and an adult Yellow Legged Gull (looked like the same bird I saw last week)
First winter Caspian Gull; a classic, striking looking individual which has visited this site a couple of times this winter (and for which the rubbish 'phonescoped images below, taken very late on to be fair, do it absolutely no justice whatsoever!)
Highlights from this morning included 17 Snipe, 22 Goosander, 1 Raven and 3 Cetti's Warblers.

A late record from October 15th
At Bunting Hide - an aberrant nuthatch: pale with all colours muted and only the suggestion of an eye-stripe. NB There were very few birds around as the feeders were empty. The nuthatch was seen briefly.

Edmonson Hide - 6 Heron
Ramsdale's Hide - Little Egret, 2 Heron over & 3 Snipe on small grassy island to far right side of hide

At the Flash today kick starting my 2020 list with stuff I can't get in Northern Ireland. Thanks to all the birders who helped me out. Ticked stock dove, goosander and willow tit plus a nice kingfisher, little egret and redwings. Bunting hide needs a squirrel cull.

Resident Oystercatcher on the spit
40 Redwing in one flock at the western end

1 vocal Raven circling low around the nature reserve area seemed to drop into the play area/car park area!!
A 2nd winter Mediterrean Gull was with the throng of Black Headed directly in front of
Horrocks Hide at 13.30, together with 4 Common Gulls. The whole group flushed within seconds
of me finding the bird and pointing it out to the photographers in the hide. The Black Headed Gulls
returned to same spot minutes later but the Med Gull was not with them, and despite searcing through
the gulls on the main flash and around the end of the spit I could not find the bird again. I got the impression
though that this Med Gull has not ventured far and may well hang around with the local Black Heads.
As I was leaving a large group of gulls were being fed by the car park but I did'nt get the chance to search
through them, it will probably be worth having a good look through the Black Heads tomorrow though.
Also, 7 Snipe and 1 Goldcrest were seen near the Ramsdale Hide.
50 Shoveler and 2 Little Grebes were on the pool in front of the Teal Hide, whilst 1 Kestrel flew over.
3 Willow Tits and 2 Nuthatches were around the feeding station and 1 Water Rail was by Pengies Hide.
A single Grey Wagtail was by the car park and at one point flew onto the wing mirror of a car, the bird
then spotted it's reflection and started attacking it with vigour.
Highlights this morning:
2 Whooper Swan
29 Snipe
6 Goosander
