Neither sight nor sound of cuckoo and only a short weak reel from a grasshopper warbler,didn't hear any chiffchaff either.

Missed Merlin Bernard what time did it pass through?

A large roost of Sand Martins at Tinker Joe's Flash this evening numbered into four figures most probably and was a sight equaled only by the similarly impressive display of Starling around a roost.

Also present were two Grasshopper Warblers, a Reed Warbler and a Cuckoo.

female merlin flew low over bottom corner of C8 before heading in general direction of fir tree flash, 1 lapwing over, cuckoo showing pretty well in C8 plus heard another distant cuckoo, otherwise similar to morning sightings.

C8 first cuckoo of this year for me first heard 07-25 then seen at 07-40, first in 2013 was April 15th in 2012 April 20th, also definitely heard a grasshopper warbler but couldn't spot it,5 pheasant 3 seen 2 heard, kestrel, meadow pipit, skylark, magpie, wood pigeon, carrion crow, blue, great and long tailed tit, willow warbler,
