Saturday mid afternoon - not really here for birding but popped into a couple of hides
An unusual sight of a Buzzard that landed on the end of the spit near the Cormorant's but only lasted 5 minutes due to aerial bombardments from many Lapwing's & Crows.
From Edmonson Hide was a nice looking Cormorant perched on a stick quite close & 20 Snipe in their usual place to the left side of the reedbed
Both M & F Shoveler's were also in very good numbers

Last week having lost track of time I was hastily returning to my car here at 16:20 (20 minutes after it currently closes) but was told by the park ranger that 'they' don't lock it & its done by someone who lives across the road.
He said as long as its within reason then your vehicle won't get locked in.

Note, the 1st car park near the fire station gets locked (though the council worker may close the gate with a small stick instead of the padlock if your car is still inside - as happened to me once)

Hi Mike. Very much depends on the wind direction as this will determine which way the birds are facing and where on the flash they'll be sitting. There is generally a pre-roost in East Bay, so it can be worth looking from the benches on the South Side opposite the car park. Lots of people choose to watch from the track at the side of sorrowcow pond just past the sailing club. Park on Green Lane before the cottages and then walk past the cottages to the spot adjacent to the pond - the flattened grass makes it obvious where people stand. Other alternative spots are from the main car park or from the point of the rucks. Any of these can be the best/worst choice depending on factors mentioned above.
Thanks Craig
That is most helpful and I will certainly give it a try.
