3 small v shaped skeins (100+) flying above newton heath this morning (8.15am) heading towards town centre. Driving in car so unable to confirm species satisfactorily. Anybody else get a better view?!

Another mega days birding on the reserve. A Taiga Bean Goose was located with Pink-footed Geese early afternoon bringing our year list onto 152 species, a new record (see report of 22nd Nov). Another record was broken with 32 European White-fronted Geese (21 adult and 11 juveniles), again with 2000+ Pink-footed Geese this morning.

300 (give or take a few) flew west over Butts Bridge, Leigh at 09:45 today, giving me just enough time to text Barry Hulme who was at Pennington Flash. Sure enough, a couple of minutes later they were still going west over his head and he agreed on the count too
