Black Tern was still present this evening, as were both Common and Arctic Terns, Little Gull and at least 10 Swift. Paul Wren had 5 Yellow Wagtail which he said were being moved around by dog walkers.

After a 1600 text message from Paul Wren, alerting me that there were 150+ Arctic Terns, I went to Audenshaw.
Sightings with P Wren, S Ghilks, R Adderley, J Wild and P Hammond
200+ Arctic Terns, over 90 on the water at one stage, we also witnessed 30 new birds drop in Small numbers of Common Tern 1 Little Tern 14 Little Gull 1 Yellow Wagtail 3-4 Swift 5 House Martin

A couple of visits today, one pre and one post work, with S Ghilks
Am
1 Yellow Wagtail 2 Wheatear 3 Little Ringed Plover 2 Ringed Plover 20 White Wagtail 40 Sand Martin 10 Swallow 2 Terns seen in poor light, which didn't stay long, were possibly Arctic!
Pm 7 Arctic Tern over no 1 went up high at one point then dipped down again, then at 1740 flew off north east Swallows and Sand Martins were resting on the banks numbering at least 200 split practically 50/50 2+ House Martin

Thanks for the company Karen, Mark and Paul. At least the Red-Breasted Merganser was long gone and not departed 1 minute before I got there. I hung around for a bit photographing the shower which eventually came over just as I was returning to the car. Maybe something came down with it...

I arrived at Audenshaw only to find that the Red Breasted Merganser had departed long before I arrived!
There were good numbers of duck mainly on No 1
9 Teal + 2 on no 2 14 Wigeon 5 Shoveler 6 Mallard 1 Coot
4 Lapwing on the ground plus another 15 or so over 2 Dunlin 1 Redshank 2 Buzzard and a Peregrine
Still good numbers of Goldeneye and displaying pairs of Great Crested Grebe
