Got a puncture on the M61 northbound at junction 5, Westhoughton Thursday lunchtime. Whilst inspecting the damage spotted a kestral heading towards the lodge. A minute or two later saw a buzzard heading in the same direction being mobbed by two gulls. On the way back coming off junction 5 southbound, glaced over toward the lodge and saw a handfull of deer near a copse close to the south side of the lodge. I appreciate that this site is for birds but the deer and the birds cheered me up after my blow-out.
4.34 pm Common Scoter (f) keeping station in middle of lodge, when viewed between Islands. Good views. Thanks Steve and Phil,
