I'm not overlt familiar with the road, but as you come from Moss Bank Way, pat the junction where the Bolton Castle and Shell garage are, then past the next set of lights, they were perched at the top of one of the big trees on the right about 500 yards after the lights.

No sign of any waxwings at CHEP/Subway at 11:30 today so I had a mooch around and found 70 feeding in a sycamore on 3rd Avenue, approx. 400 metres SW of Subway, opposite the Village Inn (also a female blackcap here).
Just after midday they flew off SW and, judging by the last post, have since returned to CHEP.

Again (see post on 10th), 25 at Chorlton WP flew east to the Merseybank Estate, low over the car park calling, at 15.24. A quick mooch after work located another 8 (from Merseybank Avenue) flying over Princess Road A5103, which appeared to drop down behind the MacDonalds at 16.03. I didn't locate any on drive around the back streets there.

I was on Mosely Road just before noon Friday 14/1 (today), opposite side entrance of Cheps and 100+ were perched on high tree, coming down at noisy intervals to take the berries. Got some good pictures (despite having my camera on the wrong setting to start with). Fabulous!

37 birds in trees on Hulme road Ringley at the round a bout at ringley meadows, there is a berry-tree in the next street where the birds flew from.

60+ on Village Way between Fifth Avenue and Praed Road (Chep/Subway), Trafford Park, departed to west at 12.17. Relocated at NW intersection of Village Way/Mosley Road (opposite Evans Halshaw). 110 at least, though 60 odd departed in several smaller flocks south down Mosley Road at 12.40. Still 50+ present at 12.45. Still plenty of berries left

I reported the Waxwings, I work at the cargo centre and got a new tick on my 'Airport' list today to add to Leach's Petrel and Short Eared Owl amongst other species you would not expect at a busy International Airport, a lovely start to the working day!

The flock then flew over Simonsway and 3 birds were located in the trees at the junction of Mottershead Road and Greenwood Road for a nice garden tick!!

Moseley Road flock 11 when I arrived. They left and were replaced by a flock of 29 which later grew to 53 before I left. Showing well mid morning at least.

Called at Mosley Road at 8-25 am on way to work this morning to find 7 waxwings in a tree opposite Chep to be joined by another small flock which then made 30. They even sat still while I counted them.

At 1:30 there were only 12 Waxwings on Mosley Road, mainly feeding on the large cotoneaster bushes, but some were also occasionally flycatching. Also Peregrine nearby on Centenary Way killed pigeon and flew over ship canal to Eccles.

Live 5 mins from mosley road so thought we'd see if the 6 waxwings were still there...rewarded with a flock of 65!!!!! Watched them from the pavement where they came to within a few feet!
