Fishermen....3, camped directly opposite the Island facing the side where the Avocet had been , and stamping down on the waterside vegetation. Vegetation on the Islands is much higher than last year, and several bushes are well established.

Avocet still present and best viewed from Lock Lane (info thanks to Mark Rigby) as it is spending its time currently on the side of the islands not viewable from the fields off Beaumont Road. Do not enter fields off Lane Lane and view only from this small road.

The Oystercatchers were in full voice at 6.15 a.m. Saturday morning as I was making porridge and wondering why I wasn't still asleep, that's the sound I'll be hearing for the next six months.

Rumworth was almost a bird free zone this morning! All I saw were 8 teal, 6 BH gull plus 2 common gull, 4 crows and 3 magpie!!! Where have all the gulls, lapwings, teal and coot gone as there have been good numbers of them every other day during the last week.

1.50 This afternoon: Dipper showing really well around the Dam overflow before flying off towards Middlebrook. One GC Grebe, 5 Canada Geese and a Mallard down near the Dam.
Pinkfoot 1 feeding in field Golden Plover 1 feeding with 85 Lapwing. Also a seperate Lapwing flock of around 100 flew high over heading West Bullfinch 1 male Snipe 1 GS Woodpecker 1 in wood near dam Pheasant 1
