On arrival from Middlebrook at Lostock I saw a Cormorant flying away and a Great Crested Grebe in the top channel.
Within five minutes a falcon flew from the reservor, over and along Beaumont Road, before heading west towards Reebok Stadium. It was a little distant but the dark wings, plain tail, and masked face , showed it was a Hobby. A few Swallows were not happy with it.
The resident Kestrels (two), were along Lock Lane being harrassed by lots of Swallows. A couple of Pied Wagtails were on the wires.
From the top of Lock Lane I could only pick out the usual common species on the reservor.
