Very quiet this morning (for me anyway) with only 12 Willow Warbler, 8 Chiffchaff and 3 Reed Warbler on and around Ramsdales Ruck and a Kingfisher at the western end of the flash of real note.

2 hours mid afternoon off western end of Flash from Mossley Hall Farm to Recycling Centre on Slag Lane.
Juvenile Long Tailed Tits aplenty - wherever you go these cute little birds are now in abundance.
Plenty of Willow Warblers, 2 Reed Warblers (pic attached), a single Juvenile Goldfinch (pic attached),
single Treecreeper, single Willow Tit, 2 Grey Heron & a Buzzard.
Some very large Dragonflies patrolling the area & plenty of insect bites for my troubles!

Brief visit to PF, parking at the Slag Lane end and viewing the main scrape etc, from the West bank of Ramsdales.
Highlights : 26 adult Great Crested Grebes plus 7 youngsters, 1 Little Grebe and 1 adult Herring Gull.
A group of 6 Willow Warblers where in hawthorns near Slag Lane.
Huge numbers of Coots on the flash, most at the Western end.

This was probably the same flock I saw over Little Woolden Moss at 08.45 - although I counted approx 90 birds.

This leucistic starling was on the telegraph pole at the end of my garden today. I live about 1/2 mile from Pennington Flash as the starling flies, I would have though that this is a certainty in the starling roost if anybody is there at dusk.

236 Lesser Black-backed Gulls in a number of flocks moving west through the site (coming in from the north or NW though) with many stopping to rest/wash briefly on the water and the total consisting of c80% juveniles

This morning:
4 Arctic tern flew high west through at c. 8.55am.
2 Common Sandpiper on the shore at the sailing club.
3 Egyptian Geese on the sailing club and later on the main spit.
2 Juvenile Sparrowhawk over the woods on the south side
Several mixed warbler/tit etc flocks around the site the best of which, at the West end in bushes and reeds near the small concrete bridge, held family parties of Treecreeper, Willow Tit and Goldcrest as well as at least 1 Lesser whitethroat giving good views feeding on elder berries.

136 Lesser Black-backed Gull, of which 103 were juveniles and including a single flock of 86 of them!
320 Sand Martin (seemed to drift off or up later on)

Hi Colin it was in the paddock just north? of mossley hall with the horses in this morning ( 1 dressed as a zebra!?) . Feeding along the back fence.
