Around 2.30pm today the count was approx 40-50 Waxwings at the junction of Broomfield Road and Dalton Grove in Heaton Moor.

Still more than a dozen Waxwings along with a good number of Redwings in the trees at the junction of Broomfield Road and Dalton Grove in Heaton Moor at 8:30am.
The trees are being stripped fast.

Initially it was all down to simply a good breeding season I understand, rather than the more usual dispersal due to a lack of food.

20+ Waxwings on corner of Broomfield Road and Dalton Grove in Heaton Moor at 8:30 this morning. There are two trees with abundant berries on Dalton Grove and they're feeding alongside a mixed flock of thurshes.
This is my first post. I do much of my birding now on my cycle to work between Heaton Moor and Baguley Wythenshawe. Waxwings are now my best 'commuting' spot!

Wythenshawe 2.15pm - 3pm 125+ on trees across road from main entrance to Willow Park Housing Trust offices on Benchill Road (between Newhey Rd & Rothley Ave) Coming to feed on small white berry tree just inside fence of Trust building entrance. Not many berries left. 20 minute fly round the area - Woodhouse Lane & Hollyhedge Road before returning to feed. Also update to numbers from Trafford Park Subway Jan 15th 150+ individuals in flight -analysis of photo's show. Steve Nelson's estimate on the day of 160 much nearer the mark, than the 130 posted.

On arrival in Ashton u Lyne, Cotton Street car park, there were c25 birds present. As I was watching them, they were joined by another 50+ birds. The birds are still feeding on the remaining berries at Holmes Printers and some very decayed apples in Cotton Street car park.

Yes corner of Woodhill Road and Truro Close, the latter is the very small unnamed road on google maps on the right before Logwood Avenue. We were in Bury so went over at 3. No sign so we had a nice walk round the Burrs and watched the steam trains pass by.

I finally found some Waxwings of my own today, typically when not actually looking for them!? They were in a tree in the car park between Green Street and Rink Street, Ladybarn, Manchester. 20 of them, but no sign of any berries. They flew off after a minute or two of watching them, along Bowers Street.
The trees are being stripped fast.
