Virtually nothing on any of the 3 Res except for... Great Crested Grebes 1 pair of Tufted Ducks Small number of Gulls
Other species of note...a few Sand Martins and Swallows, 1 Pied Wagtail,. 4 Dunlin and 1 Ringed Plover flew in together and were feeding at the edge of Audenshaw Road Res. They were being harassed by a large Carrion Crow and eventually all 5 birds flew off.
Also 2 Lesser Whitethroats and Common Whitethroat in scrub adjacent to motorway.

Sand Martin and Swallow - movements of this mixed flock made it impossible to count. ~75 House Martin - 4 maybe 5 Swift - none at first, but later approx 10 - 15 Ringed Plover - 2 Common Sandpiper - 2 Wheatear - 8 (only 2f ) White Wagtail - approx 30 - 40 Pied Wagtail - approx 10 - 15 Yellow Wagtail -1 Meadow pipits - constantly overhead in small groups, some of which landed Goosander - 2f Goldeneye - still 3 pairs Great Black-Backed Gulls- 3
...and a slender looking Pigeon, very fast - flying low over the water, possibly a Racing Pigeon type.

Yesterday's Channel Wagtail is a new bird, different to the flava earlier in the month.

I always make sure I'm not re-counting the same bird, as I hope all do in the field. Obviously, the high counts are an estimate.
Just to reaffirm, I wasn't trying to imply previous counts were inaccurate nor question 'well known birdwatchers' counting ability, just that I found that the previous counts seemed low.
Also - Can I ask opinions on the M f flava? wagtail, do we consider the 'blue headed' bird present this past week potentially a Channel type bird? or is it obviously a different bird?

Didn't take your post as a criticism at all Jamie, like I said you may well have counted more, I can only post what I counted otherwise I would be lying.
One thing to note though mate, quite alot of dog walkers present that evening as it was quite mild so we did notice alot of movement with the Wagtails and Pipits, the last thing you want to do is start counting a group of 25+ birds about 3 or 4 times and all of a sudden you think you've seen over 100. There could well have been the numbers you say of those species, but there were 3 of us (2 more well known birders and myself) up there last evening and we all came to roughly the same figures of what WE saw at the time. :)
