Morning dog walk A few raptors this morning, 2 buzzard, 3 kestrel, sparrowhawk + a falconer with a goshawk, 1 willow warbler,blue tit,great tit,long tailed tit,dunnock,robin,blackbird,wren,wood pigeon,magpie,carrion crow,4 meadow pipit, raven could be heard cronking but couldn't spot it, 20+ coot, 9 tufted duck,4 great crested grebe, 1 mute swan,1 moorhen,5 mallard.

Covey of grey partridge in same area as yesterday, difficult to count I got 9 but again I know I didn't get them all.great spotted woodpecker, jay usual tits and goldfinch etc,

covey of grey partridge near old concrete road behind scrap yards counted 12 but i know i missed some, coming back 2 hours later about 500yds from original sighting scramble bikes put up 11 partridge plus another 5 100yds further on so presume same covey. 7 jay, 3 pheasant, goldfinch,great tit, blue tit, long tailed tit, robin, blackbird,wren, dunnock, magpie,wood pigeon, carrion crow,2 collared dove,chaffinch,5 great crested grebe, 1 little grebe, 1 mute swan, mallard, coot, moorhen,tufted duck,10 black headed gull, grey heron over, steady stream of gulls over mainly black headed with some lesser black backed, 3 jackdaw over, 3 kestrel

Morning dog walk C9 2 little grebe,4 great crested grebe, 1 mute swan, 14 mallard, 6 tufted duck, 17 coot, 2 moorhen, 8 black headed gull, smallish numbers goldfinch,long tailed, blue and great tit, 1m bullfinch, wren, 2 robin, 4 dunnock, 8 blackbird, 1 kestrel,wood pigeon. Evening dog walk mainly the same as morning walk minus the bullfinch and little grebe, but of note was a commotion from the forbids 20+ magpie and a dozen or so carrion crow flying around C7 and making an hell of a racket I presumed a predator was around but couldn't spot anything.

morning dog walk pretty quiet bird wise small flock of 11 long tailed tit, 8 goldfinch similar number great tit, 2 blue tit, 2 robin, several blackbird 1 blackbird chased a bird from a low hawthorn that i think was possibly a redstart but i didn't see ( nor hear) enough to be sure i hung around for a while but didn't see it again. 1 kestrel, 1 grey heron over, wood pigeon, carrion crow, magpie, i didn't walk around diggle flash but most of the usual birds could be seen from the new road including coot, tufted duck, mute swan, great crested grebe, mallard and black headed gull.

Morning dog walk C9 1 spotted flycatcher first l've seen on this site although there are some areas that look likely habitats, plenty long tailed, great and blue tits, 2 willow warbler, c30 goldfinch, 4 great crested grebe, 11 tufted duck, 14 coot, 6 mallard,1 little grebe,1 mute swan,3 lesser black backed gull,8 black headed gull. morning dog walk C9 kingfisher around diggle flash first i've seen here for a while although a couple of the anglers tell me they see one pretty often, 7 tufted duck, 13 coot, 2 little grebe, 4 great crested grebe 2 adult 2 juv, 8 black headed gull, 1 mute swan, 1 moorhen, 1 grey heron on stock pond, trees and road above diggle flash were very busy, 2 whitethroat, 3 robin, 3 blackbird and decent numbers of goldfinch blue, great and long tailed tit, 3 dunnock. trees along road between flash and new road also held plenty tits mainly blue and long tailed with a few great and a single robin. C8 1 kestrel, 2 swallow, trees at bottom of new road held a few mixed tits, 4 blackbird, 8 goldfinch in fields, 5 lesser black backed gull over 4 adult 1 juv, usual magpie, wood pigeon and carrion crow.

Morning dog walk very breezy C8 raven over seemed to be being harassed by 4 swallow, 3 meadow pipit, 2 skylark, 1 reed bunting, wood pigeon, carrion crow, magpie, great tit, C9 mixed flock of c30 tits roughly 2/3 being long tailed, 2 blue tit the rest being great tit, small charm of 8 goldfinch, kestrel, small numbers of coot and tufted duck, 1 great crested grebe on main flash coot could be heard in the reeds sheltering from the wind probably, slightly more sheltered stock pond 1 mute swan, 5 mallard 7 coot, cormorant over, black headed and lesser black backed gulls just off site over fields near Owens farm.

Morning dog walk 3 swallow on phone wires plus 5 swallow and 6 house martin over flash, mixed tit flock of 30ish birds 2 blue tit with an even mix of great and long tailed tits,blackbird,robin,wood pigeon,carrion crow,magpie, 1 mute swan, 7 black headed gull, 2 lesser black backed gull, 4 mallard,11 tufted duck,16 coot, 5 great crested grebe 3 adult 2 juv,1 moorhen, 1 water rail sneaking into reed bed the first I have seen on diggle flash although I have heard them here occasionally.

Evening dog stroll C8 2 kestrel, 1 pheasant, 2 flocks/charms goldfinch 12-15 birds in each, wood pigeon,magpie,carrion crow, 60 plus gulls heading towards pennington roost mainly black headed with a few lesser black backed, C9 3 adult great crested grebe at least 2 juv possibly 3, 1 gadwall amongst several mallard, usual coot and tufted duck, 1 mute swan, 2 swallow, 2 blackbird. Morning dog walk C8 pheasant,kestrel, family party of at least 5 whitethroat, a very aggressive blackbird dive bombed me and my dog Charlie, reed warbler flew 6-7 times between the same 2 points about 30yds apart, 1skylark, small numbers reed bunting and meadow pipit, C9 didn't walk around diggle flash but could see usual coot,tufted duck, mute swan,mallard,great crested grebe and black headed gull from new road, 7 lesser black backed gull over field, good numbers long tailed tit, small numbers blue and great tit, goldfinch,robin,wren,jay,magpie,wood pigeon,carrion crow,2 willow warbler.

Little to add to what others have seen recently, apart from Buzzard and Green Woodpecker calls from top (northern end) of concrete road and Willow Warbler in full song for a few minutes near choked pond.

C9 kingfisher around diggle flash first i've seen here for a while although a couple of the anglers tell me they see one pretty often, 7 tufted duck, 13 coot, 2 little grebe, 4 great crested grebe 2 adult 2 juv, 8 black headed gull, 1 mute swan, 1 moorhen, 1 grey heron on stock pond, trees and road above diggle flash were very busy, 2 whitethroat, 3 robin, 3 blackbird and decent numbers of goldfinch blue, great and long tailed tit, 3 dunnock. trees along road between flash and new road also held plenty tits mainly blue and long tailed with a few great and a single robin.
C8 1 kestrel, 2 swallow, trees at bottom of new road held a few mixed tits, 4 blackbird, 8 goldfinch in fields, 5 lesser black backed gull over 4 adult 1 juv, usual magpie, wood pigeon and carrion crow.
C8 raven over seemed to be being harassed by 4 swallow, 3 meadow pipit, 2 skylark, 1 reed bunting, wood pigeon, carrion crow, magpie, great tit,
C9 mixed flock of c30 tits roughly 2/3 being long tailed, 2 blue tit the rest being great tit, small charm of 8 goldfinch, kestrel, small numbers of coot and tufted duck, 1 great crested grebe on main flash coot could be heard in the reeds sheltering from the wind probably, slightly more sheltered stock pond 1 mute swan, 5 mallard 7 coot, cormorant over, black headed and lesser black backed gulls just off site over fields near Owens farm.

C8 3 swallow, 1 kestrel, 1 wren, 1 linnet, 3 whitethroat juvs in brambles, wood pigeon, carrion crow, magpie, 1 jay, great spotted woodpecker heard but not seen.
3 swallow on phone wires plus 5 swallow and 6 house martin over flash, mixed tit flock of 30ish birds 2 blue tit with an even mix of great and long tailed tits,blackbird,robin,wood pigeon,carrion crow,magpie, 1 mute swan, 7 black headed gull, 2 lesser black backed gull, 4 mallard,11 tufted duck,16 coot, 5 great crested grebe 3 adult 2 juv,1 moorhen, 1 water rail sneaking into reed bed the first I have seen on diggle flash although I have heard them here occasionally.
30+ hirundine ( counted 31 but i know i didn't get them all) mainly swallow but at least 4 sand martin and the distinctive white rump of a single house martin, 2 kestrel.
3 swallow over diggle flash, 5 great crested grebe 3 adult 2 juv, single kestrel in trees around flash.

C8 2 kestrel, trees at bottom of new road pretty busy with a whitethroat family party, 2 robin, 2 meadow pipit, 2 wren, a mixed tit flock with great, blue and long tailed tit, 5 goldfinch, 3 blackbird, usual wood pigeon, magpie and carrion crow, pheasant heard, buzzard could be seen quite distant.
C9 6 great crested grebe 4 adult 2 juv one riding on mums back, 11 tufted duck, 1 mute swan, 20+ coot, 5 black headed gull, 3 goldfinch, several great tit, 1 robin.
2 buzzard and a kestrel over rucks being mobbed by magpies,single swallow over meadow,blackbird,2 meadow pipit,
6 great crested grebe 4 adult 2 juv 1 adult still seems to be sitting on nest, 21 coot, 18 tufted duck, 1 black headed gull, 1 mute swan,4 lesser black backed gull over, no sign of gadwall or any mallard. 2 goldfinch, 1 willow warbler,
C8 2 kestrel, 1 pheasant, 2 flocks/charms goldfinch 12-15 birds in each, wood pigeon,magpie,carrion crow, 60 plus gulls heading towards pennington roost mainly black headed with a few lesser black backed,
C9 3 adult great crested grebe at least 2 juv possibly 3, 1 gadwall amongst several mallard, usual coot and tufted duck, 1 mute swan, 2 swallow, 2 blackbird.

C8 pheasant,kestrel, family party of at least 5 whitethroat, a very aggressive blackbird dive bombed me and my dog Charlie, reed warbler flew 6-7 times between the same 2 points about 30yds apart, 1skylark, small numbers reed bunting and meadow pipit,
C9 didn't walk around diggle flash but could see usual coot,tufted duck, mute swan,mallard,great crested grebe and black headed gull from new road, 7 lesser black backed gull over field, good numbers long tailed tit, small numbers blue and great tit, goldfinch,robin,wren,jay,magpie,wood pigeon,carrion crow,2 willow warbler.
3 kestrel over field, 30+ starling + 4 mistle thrush feeding in field,9 lesser black backed gulls over, grey heron over, goldfinch,robin,blackbird,great,blue and long tailed tits, 1 willow warbler,2 jay, magpie,wood pigeon,carrion crow.
Diggle flash 23 tufted duck, 20+ coot,3 great crested grebe,5 mallard, 3 moorhen, several black headed gull, 1 mute swan.
