I was at Rumworth Lodge tonight between 6-45 & 8pm. The sun was making it difficult to see clearly any birds on the "far side" at first, but as the sun went down, around 7-30pm, the Wood Sandpiper was located alongside a Redshank in short vegetation and occasionally came right out onto the water's edge and gave good but distant views. I also missed the bird yesterday,if it was the same bird?

Keith any shooting at this location at this time of year would be an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, I very much doubt any landowner would give permission to shoot here,
You first port of call should be the police regarding firearms been used at this location, any evidence regarding car reg details ect would be of a great help.

The pavement along Beaumont Road is a dual footpath /cycle way..and really should not be parked on.
The current farmer is not happy about parking in the gate entrance (Conversation with me yesterday) . I understand that he is renting the fields off the local farm( The local farmer was ok, with this parking). Also, he has complained to one forum member about use of the footpath down to the Lodge..(apparently he was unaware of this right of way.) He is using some very wide tractor equipment, but has access through another gate a few yards away. This afternoon I noticed that this entrance was blocked as well.
