A frankly disappointing hour this evening from the Rucks. I had hoped the light easterlies and heavy downpours might have dropped a few waders in, or even a Black Tern, but the whole place was really quiet. Some disturbance from swimmers (see Pennington Issues thread in general discussion) didnt help. Nothing at all unusual, 12 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 4 Common Terns and Pair of Oystercatchers the very poor highlights!

On review - I think the possible Arctic Terns that flew over on Thursday are Common Terns. Bright sunlight looks to be a factor in causing a translucent effect on the primaries rather than them actually being so, and as pointed out to me the dark trailing edge of the outer primaries is probably on the thick side for Arctic.
Cheers
