Flock of approx 100 finches, mainly Chaffinch, some Brambling (approx 10), 1 Goldfinch. Flying in and out of the tree above Twelve Yards Road between fields 52 & 16
Skylark, heard and seen in field 52
Buzzard - in the "usual" place sitting on the very short grass to the W of the west end of Little Woolden Moss NR
Stonechat F - west end of the NR - quite approachable, got within 10m, but took some time later looking at pictures to be sure it wasn't an early F Whinchat
Canada Geese - flock of several hundred (200-400) on the other side of Glaze Brook
Fieldfare - flock of approx 20 settled into the trees to roost just inside the east end of the NR
Lapwings - all over the place except in the NR - but still flying over it

At the rear of field 52 on Chat Moss a flock of 300 + finches,mainly Chaffinch but a reasonable number of Brambling mixed in with them. A flock of at least 150 Lapwing on the opposite side of 12 Yards Road. Along 12 Yards Road 7 or 8 Corn Buntings perched up in roadside trees with a few Yellowhammers. On Little Woolden Moss a single Oystercatcher and 2 Shelduck on the pool by the cabins. 3 Buzzards over and a flock of 150ish Redwing in fields between L.W. Hall and the Glaze.
Dry but windy spell 1530-1630ish.

A flock of about 80 Chaffinch with a few Brambling mixed in with them feeding in the brassica crop by the old mineral line,and 200+ Linnet behind Shooters Grove Farm On Astley Moss 30 Stock Dove feeding in recently ploughed field by Rindle Road, 2 Buzzard overland a Kestrel on the wires.

At the rear of field 52 on Chat Moss a flock of 300 + finches,mainly Chaffinch but a reasonable number of Brambling mixed in with them. A flock of at least 150 Lapwing on the opposite side of 12 Yards Road. Along 12 Yards Road 7 or 8 Corn Buntings perched up in roadside trees with a few Yellowhammers.
On Little Woolden Moss a single Oystercatcher and 2 Shelduck on the pool by the cabins. 3 Buzzards over and a flock of 150ish Redwing in fields between L.W. Hall and the Glaze.

I was with a friend at the same spot on 25 Jan and we also counted 19 Corn Buntings in those trees.
At least 19 (possibly 20) Corn Bunting - some singing. In trees along track between f52 & f18. A new highest count for this winter period and indeed many years. Rubbish phone photo attached shows approx 17
Also in f52 a large finch flock c.150 Chaffinch, c.50 Linnet, c20 Goldfinch, 8 Brambling

Little Woolden Moss LWT late morning to early afternoon today:
Immature male red wing-tagged Marsh Harrier 'JP' hunting over the moss
Immature/female Merlin flew through west
1 Wigeon over west
230 Fieldfare in one flock on western fields and moving slowly north
2 Raven
400 Lapwing over the reserve looked to have been moved off fields to the south and eventually flew back that way
A flock of about 80 Chaffinch with a few Brambling mixed in with them feeding in the brassica crop by the old mineral line,and 200+ Linnet behind Shooters Grove Farm On Astley Moss
30 Stock Dove feeding in recently ploughed field by Rindle Road, 2 Buzzard overland a Kestrel on the wires.
