Heard singing yesterday morning (roughly 8.30) when I was waiting for a train at Oxford Road station; I was stood on platform 2, and the sound came from some way in front of me, though I had no time to try to locate further, as my train turned up less than a minute after I heard it.

Black Redstart was singing somewhere between Lincoln Square and Queen St near the Lincoln Statue approx 12.50pm and only briefly for a minute or so.
It's played its dirty trick on me again, I've put my wagon on break ready to go and look for it but it's stopped singing, and the only birds to be heard and seen now are Goldfinches in full voice and a Blackbird that keeps throwing in a few notes.
Apologies I can't provide a more positive update than that!

Yet again, as soon as I stop for a break the bird has stopped singing and probably relocated.

Unfortunately not Adam, although I heard it again when I turned onto Cross St en-route to next delivery, and the singing seemed to be coming from around the back of Mr.Thomas's Chop House but no time to stop and locate it, I'm in city centre most days so there's time yet.

Brilliant views of the singing male Black Redstart this morning. I heard it singing in St Ann's Sq at about 8 am, saw it fly onto the roof of Mr Thomas's and as it sang more distantly I thought that might be it. However, I heard it a few minutes later from the Cross Street direction and as I walked round the corner by Frankie and Benny's saw the bird on the very top of the Diesel shop building, singing hard. Chris Chandler had joined me by this point, and we saw the bird fly-catching on the roof of the building and down the front, it perched briefly on a window sill about 2 floors up. What a beauty! It moved across the road to the south corner of King Street and then showed well on the roof of that building and the one further down on the same side towards the Town Hall. All in all I think we watched it for around 30 minutes. Really cool!

Yes, it was difficult to hear anything much over all that racket! I was heading somewhere more peaceful when the bird flew over The Slug and Lettuce (makes a change from Cuckoo's Nests I suppose). There was a Goldfinch singing in the trees in the courtyard area on Brazenose Street while I was listening to the Black Redstart. A couple of Mistle Thrushes squabbling away there as well.

I thought I heard a brief burst from the bird from the Lloyd St./Mount St. corner of the Town Hall roof, over the noise of power drills, at around 12.15; then about 12.30 a small bird called and flew over the roof of the Slug and Lettuce. Followed it round to Brazenose Street where it sang again from the roofs on either side of the street. It sang longest from the back of the Aviva building on Albert Square (the one with the little Liver bird on the roof ) but even viewing from by the Hidden Gem on Mulberry Street I couldn't see it. Hung around a bit but no further sound of it so eventually headed over to St Ann's Square. No luck there but the Spanish guitar music from King Street North was very pleasant

Flew off in the direction of the library, and returned a couple of minutes later where he continued to sing from the very top of the Town Hall until just before 9 o'clock.

Glad to hear there are still bird/birds present. We seem to be receiving reports of some unusal timings for Black Redstart to be singing, but the places are generally the same. I wonder what the possibility of a co-ordinated survey would be one morning this week to try and pin down presence numbers, then we can obviously officialy record this. PM or text if you're interested and we'll pick a morning.
