Yellowhammers and Tree Sparrows were plentiful around the trees and bushes at Black Lawyers, but because the flock were very flighty they were difficult to count; guestimates of 15 of each species. Also mixing with them were 8+ Reed Buntings.
Very quiet away from the feeding station area, although the small woodland on the left hand of the track heading up to the bridge held a Willow Tit and at least 10 Siskin. Two Kestrels were mooching about beyond the railway bridge, and there were 6 House Sparrows along the brook off Bradley Lane. 11 Skylarks over, and a Great Spotted Woodpecker finished proceedings off. The pools held absolutely nothing, despite it being mostly thawed.....
