Walked along the River Glaze and Moss Lane to Little Woolden Moss NR, as the footpath along the Western
perimeter of the reserve was being repaired.
River Glaze area : 2 Gadwall, 3 Buzzards, 1 Kestrel and 2 Grey Herons. The Teal that I often find along
the river appear to have moved on.
Newly ploughed fields North of the reserve : 14 Lapwings, 5 Mistle Thrushes and a single Skylark.
Little Woolden Moss NR : 1 Black Tailed Godwit, 2 Ringed Plovers, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Kestrel and 1 Raven.
A noisy flock of 50+ Black Headed and 7 adult Lesser Black Back Gulls flew onto the reserve just as I was leaving.

Cadishead Moss Whilst helping someone prepare a walk they are to do as part of the Manchester Walking Festival (in May) Starting @ Poorlots Allotments...
Marsh Harrier 2 - different locations about 20 minutes apart - I thought it was different birds but it's possible it was the same one - definitely not the red wing-tagged bird - both times being harassed by a crow (doubt it was the same crow)

300322 am....a wander about the doomed greenbelt of Barton Moss being groomed for warehouses under the PfE platform of concrete hell...how these 'developers' can spin the 'dream' of greenbelt destruction to a mesmerised council beats me...when all the council could/should be celebrating is the beauty of this open landscape for wildlife and people in perpetuity....what value warehouses when consumerism for its own sake finally fades...

An aerobatic Raven near Astley Moss SSSI, watched for about 10mins until 2 Buzzards turned up.

Little Woolden Moss NR : 2 Curlews, 2 Redshanks, 18 Lapwings (Flock flushed off the moss by something, before settling on the mossland
again soon afterwards), 2 flocks of Linnets (72 settled on top of a couple of birches after being flushed off adjoining turf field, plus another
group of 4). A Long tailed Tit seen with a beak full of nesting material, or food). 18 Lapwings were on the field West of the reserve, a further
2 seen chasing a crow over the turf fields plus 15 more on the adjoining newly ploughed field to the North.
The fields along the North side of the reserve also contained 15 Linnets, 4 Meadow Pipits and 6 Skylarks.
5 Buzzards, 2 Kestrels and a pair of Ravens were seen in flight around the reserve.
14 Teal and 8 Gadwall were seen along the River Glaze, whilst 18 Fieldfares flew over heading North.

Little Woolden Moss NR : 2 Curlews, 2 Redshanks, 18 Lapwings (Flock flushed off the moss by something, before settling on the mossland
again soon afterwards), 2 flocks of Linnets (72 settled on top of a couple of birches after being flushed off adjoining turf field, plus another
group of 4). A Long tailed Tit seen with a beak full of nesting material, or food). 18 Lapwings were on the field West of the reserve, a further
2 seen chasing a crow over the turf fields plus 15 more on the adjoining newly ploughed field to the North.
The fields along the North side of the reserve also contained 15 Linnets, 4 Meadow Pipits and 6 Skylarks.
5 Buzzards, 2 Kestrels and a pair of Ravens were seen in flight around the reserve.
14 Teal and 8 Gadwall were seen along the River Glaze, whilst 18 Fieldfares flew over heading North.
