Yesterday - what appears to have been a substantial movement occurred. There were several skeins over Aspull during the afternoon. No counts available though. Two skeins totalling around 160/170 birds went west over Boars Head Standish at 15.30. However large numbers were moving continually over Aspull in the dark between 22.45 and 23.15 judging by the noise!

I saw a very large skein flying over Chorlton Park yesterday 16-1. There may have been more than one skein, I heard the sounds and managed to get to the window as they were just going over. they were flying quite high. It was around 2-30pm.

Skein(s) low over Hale at 17.06 last night heading East. Calling loudly, but rather ghostly with just vague silhouettes crossing the stars. Great experience.... Guestimate at 100+. Probably the same lot seen Steven Burke given the timing, which would give a heading of 105 degrees (EESE). A crude extrapolation crosses Lincolnshire/The Wash to North Norfolk.
