Lots of activity on the embankment at the north end of Scotman's today, with a mixed tit-warbler flock present early morning and still active mid-afternoon. 12+ Chiffchaff, with smaller numbers of Willow Warbler, Whitethroat, Reed Warbler and Blackcap, plus 1 juvenile Lesser Whitethroat. Also Willow Tit, Bullfinch and a Goldfinch flock. Juvenile House Sparrows and a small group of Chaffinch were also making apparent lunges after insects, which I presume were 'grounded' in the Willows by the drizzle.

A Ruff (possibly different to that of 8th), a Wigeon, 2 Green Sandpipers at Horrocks Flash today. At last, the GC Grebes on Pearson's Flash have got chicks - there have been at least 4 attempts by various pairs. 39 adults on there today.
A Ruff with 500 Lapwings, 2 Snipe and a Green Sandpiper at the back of Horrocks Flash today. However, the Lapwings were very nervous and kept coming up and re-settling, so the Ruff not always easy to find. Two of the 4 mink I saw in that area a week or so ago have been accounted for, I've heard.
