c 150 through heading east at 3.50 pm through Hyde/Godley. They were flying in clear sky but heading for a bank of heavy dark cloud. In the distance they began to move out of the V and congregated together and lost height. They may well have been heading down onto the chain of reservoirs in the Longdendale Valley, to wait out the approaching weather front.

There has been several skeins going over earlier today of 100c and 200c. They landed in the field opposite Bedford high football ground, over Great Fold Bridge turn right along the canal path second field down.
A count of the flock from an enlarged photo reveals there are actually 303 birds, so just show how first impressions can be so wrong.

A noisy and impressive movement of c3,500 went low NW over the centre of Ashton-in-Makerfield/Skitters Wood at 18:10 this evening, in several large skeins close together. Presumably these were birds heading back to roost in West Lancs, from feeding sites on the mosses in GM, Cheshire or Merseyside?

approx 2.15pm about 160 flying really really low over the house heading north closely followed by a micro light, they then turned around and headed back south(ish) in the direction they had come from. They looked as if they had just taken off, don't know if they are feeding in the fields off the East lancs.

estimated 810 in 6 skeins over bickershaw rucks between 08-25 ---08-40 c130 east, c180, c80 and c120, came from different directions and merged heading SE, then 2 skeins c140 and c160 came over again from different directions and then carried on SE quite close together so these would also probably merge together.
