From A56 south of Manchester, turn towards Cornbrook Metro station at the traffic lights that are adjacent to the Pomona Palace pub, park just after the small roundabout & walk over bridge, follow tarmac path, turn right to view the Sea Buckthorn, other vegetation & fenceposts along the path
Also, 2 Common Sandpipers on MSC & Goosander over towards the Quays, but no sign of the Dunlin (water levels are high this am)
Redstart - still showing late evening until 20.00 in same area Dunlin - adult summer on exposed mud in small dock area Also: 5 Sand Martin 2 Swallow 2 Kestrel 3 Common Sandpiper (4 yesterday Steve Burke)

Redstart - juv male - showed on and off for 30 minutes before becoming elusive - sited again briefly at 17.05. From bridge over canal near Cornbrook tram station - take first tarmac path on right heading towards Mcr. Redstart favouring bushes and fence on left of path - also flitting down to path to feed. Also 3 Common Whitethroat / 2 Willow Warbler / frequent sightings of Kestrel Sparrowhawk - 1 of each sparing & 2 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk in the air at the same time.

The mink were seen coming from under bushes in small car park, just off turning circle at Clippers Quay across from Royal Mail building. They went along the path beside the Mcr Ship Canal before going into bushes on the side of the Royal Mail building facing the canal.

Hello new on here just stumbled across this site looking for the name of a bird I saw last night on the quays I know now it was the Egyptian goose so thank you :) She was with the Canadian geese last night outside the Holiday Inn and Age Croft Rowing Club (next to the pub) I have started walking round there most nights now so will keep an eye out for it. Thank you for the reply! I kind of feel sorry for the Egyptian Goose, she must be lonely and disorientated here alone... I will try Pomona, from your reports it seems like there is more water birds there. PS: I ve recently been to Brussels and saw lots of Egyptian Geese for the first time. There is loads of them there. Them, Mallards and Coots. How suprised I was when I saw one here!!

The whole of Pomona is good for birdwatching, the Kestrels can be seen hunting around Pomona, & recently they have been seen around the Liverpool Warehouse Building
