A quick wander down Moss Lane from the River Glaze to the set aside had a few more birds than I was expecting with the cold weather. On the river 3 Little Grebe, at least 10 Teal,a few Mallard and a Snipe, and a Nuthatch calling in adjacent trees. Although the frozen fields were virtually devoid of birds there was a small flock of Fieldfare and Blackbirds feeding on apples under a hedge of apple trees. On the set aside good numbers of Linnet and Chaffinch, a Tree Sparrow and single Bullfinch.

Hi Dave, can add the following to your list between 1030/1400 hrs.
Woodcock, on the lane to Little Woolden Moss.
Corn Bunting, single with Goldfinch junction of Astley road and Twelve yards lane, field 18.
Just to reiterate my comments wrt the Richards Pipit I have not been able to re-locate it on the field I first encountered it (on the 4th) in spite of my trying that and adjacent fields and those further afield up to and including the 8th (today)....this accumulatively adds up to 15 hours of fieldwork out on the moss = 6th/7th/8th December....one can only but try...Thus I have not seen it since Monday the 5th when I managed to record its call as it flew up and away from me...
