Nice walk from sewage works down to swiss cottage along to fields 13/14 and back again with the heavens opening sparadically. This produced:

Sewage works to Swiss Cottage: 2 Sedge Warbler c.5 Blackcap c.10 Whitethroat 3 Lapwing
Also, when talking to a guy, he said he had seen a "white neck", a "bird back from africa". Does anyone know what that would be? I thought maybe Wryneck ( wishful thinking!) or Whitethroat.
Also, a Yellowhammer singing from the pylon alongside field 5.

I know, I know, its a bit of over kill !! But I was doing the BBS and thought I'd put the records on !!
Birders fall in to 3 camps, those that don't record anything, those that record only what they consider of interest and those that record absolutely everything !
Early morning walk from ETW across moss to Dark Lane and back.
ETW: 0600 - 0700 Grasshopper Warbler and Garden Warbler about 100m North of ETW. Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler within ETW. 3 Oystercatchers calling overhead. Gadwall, Shoveller, Tufted, Teal, Grey Lag Goose, and at least 5 Little Grebes. 3 Swifts, no hirundines.
Across Moss: 0700 - 0830 Very windy - Oystercatchers seen several times - never more than 3 together. Yellowhammer, 6+ lapwings and Stock Dove field 5. Yellow Wagtail - 2 females field 11. Partridge - pairs seen in field 1 and 67. Wheatear - male in field 63.

Visit to Moss and ETW this morning. Not much to report that others havn't already noted in the last day or so, but 3 female Yellow Wagtails in field 13, one of which was a classic Grey-and-white. Only seen for about a minute before flushed by dogs, but upperparts mid-grey with no trace of green or yellow, and underparts dead white except for pale yellowish under tail coverts. Otherwise plumage pattern identical to normal female.
Also a cracking male in trees by crossroads between fields 1,2,10,11.

Lots of Whithethroats but Blackcaps and Willow Warblers down in number. Still a major lack of hirundines - some Swallows but no Sand or House Martins.
