The highlight of todays sightings on The Quays was 7 Goldcrest, easily a record count, all around the Weaste area (3 Weaste Valley, 2 on banks of MSC, 1 on east side of ETW & 1 Pacific Drive)

First official birding expedition in Manchester...and it rains!
Female sparrowhawk seen twice. The second time I was just 20 yards away when it flew off, mobbed by a greenfinch, while a couple of great tits sounded a short alarm.
(Actually, I have some doubts about these gulls, because they did have all the usual lesser black-backed gull characteristics, but one definitely had pinkish legs (seen from 20 yards). Do some subspecies of lesser black backed gulls have pinkish legs?)
