Midday today. Dam to Lock Lane only. Six Great Crested Grebe in the channel. A Dipper had been seen just before my arrival, by Pete Liptrot, in the relatively calm outflow channel. The overflow channel water was causing a raging flood before the tunnel. No sign of the Oystercatcher on the flooded field. A new flood had formed at the top end of this field and was popular with Gulls.... c150 Black-headed Gull, 2 Common Gull and 8 Lesser black-backed Gull
This afternoon up to 2pm. Last 45 minutes with Phil Rhodes. Additional sightings today, to Steve's post: Lock Lane/Tempest Court Drive: A gathering of c60 Finches and Tits in the hedges and ground feeding in the verges: At least 25 Chaffinch many Common Tits and Dunnock, and at least 6 Siskin

A Dipper and Grey Wagtail both showing well at the Dam around 1pm today. The Dipper perching on top of a retaining wall. The 6 Great Crested Grebe still present in the Dam channel.

However some did show from time to time, but my best count was 34 Lesser Black-backed Gull....21 Common Gull...2 Black-headed gull...c70

This pm up to 3.15. Very gloomy light with mist around. Very quiet birdwise .
