A steady stroll round some of the flashes today started with a great view of a Reed Bunting, lots more were to come. Lots of Chiff Chaffs and Black Caps. 5 pairs Common Tern, 3 with youngsters, amongst the Black Headed Gull chicks. A decent close up of a Reed Warbler, and a good number of distant views too. 2 Whitethroat, one by the canal bridge at Scotsmans Flash. The Coots, Greater Crested Grebes and Herons go without saying! Some rather bedraggled looking Tufted ducks too. A lovely sunny afternoon, in what for me, is foreign territory, just a shame you can't walk all the way round Scotsmans flash without having to negotiate Poolstock Lane. Cheers Ken
