Light Emerald moth at Windsor Road, also a small, quite worn moth, probably a pug, but the underwing pattern looked more like a carpet moth.

Several White-tailed & Buff-tailed Bumblebees around the streets and verges today. More Harlequin Ladybirds emerging from the metal gatepost
Good Friday Grass, Mayflower, Groundsel, Common Fumitory, Wall Pennywort, all in flower between Apfel Lane and Manchester Street, along with the Dandelions, Coltsfoot, and various crucifers, chickweeds etc.

No sign of any Butterflies up on The Coppice yet, but a large brown Hawkmoth type caterpillar was heading for Oldham grammar School playing fields this morning. A few of the Harlequin Ladybirds have emerged from hibernation in the metal gatepost as well.

Birdsfoot Trefoil and Wild Clary coming into flower on Lansdowne Road near the recycling plant. There seems to have been a good array of 'common weeds of cultivation' on the earth bank at this end.

The Wild Clary is a parituclarly good find Mike. Only one record for recent times in GM. A further two records date back to before 1930.

Several clumps of Lesser Celandine now in bloom, 2 on Apfel Lane (with lots of Cuckooflower) and 1 at Alder Root. Cuckooflower also coming into bloom along Watts Street together with a couple of Common Violets and a good display of Field Forget-me-not.

As usual with this species, moving faily quickly, but on the pavement, where it could easily get squished. R-directed to the adjacent grass verge
