28th March.
Came to count the heronry and was astonished and a bit distracted to see a Swallow hawking over the water surrounding the heronry!! I later visited Rhodes Lodge, Rhodes, Middleton on the way home and another 4 Swallows were there! Am I the only person to turn up Swallows today - people will think I'm making it up!! I haven't even managed to see a Sand Martin yet this year!
Also Green Woodpecker, 5 Mistle Thrush, 5 Jays together and 6 herons nests.
Cheers,
Bill.
