A male Blue-headed Wagtail was present with two Yellow Wagtails at 11:50 this morning but was flushed by walkers. Also a singing Grasshopper Warbler, two White Wagtail, three Common Sandpiper and three Common Sandpiper.

A Common Sandpiper was the highlight of a very wet and windy walk around the Res earlier this afternoon.
Plenty of Swallow with smaller numbers of House Martin and Sand Martin hawking over the water.
Tufted Duck, Mallard, Great Crested Grebe, Pied Wagtail, Meadow Pipit, Common Buzzard, Black Headed Gull, Herring Gull and Lesser Black-backed Gull present.

Thursday 15th - sorry a bit late.
Pair of willow tit in the trees on the golf course side of the lane at the Eastern corner of the reservoir.
Willow tit calling from the pond area to the West of the Western dam.
Jack snipe flew in to the pond area to the West of the Western dam.
Good numbers of Black-headed Gull and at least 4 pairs of tufted duck.

Admittedly Ive only looked at your images on my phone but the raptor looks more like a Peregrine to me. The head pattern looks too strong for Merlin and whilst the tail feathers look damaged, the wingtips stretch beyond the tail whereas in Merlin the tail exceeds the wingtips. In addition the picture showing the bird side by side with a Carrion Crow shows only a small size difference. Anybody else any thoughts?
