1 Marsh Harrier flew in from the south and was seen to land in the dense weeds on no1, same or another bird was then seen to the west 3.5 hrs later. A Red Kite could be seen way off to the east mid morning. 1 Hobby 2 Kestrel 1 Sparrowhawk 3 Black Tern 1 Sandwich Tern 1 Greenshank 3 Common Sandpiper 1 Snipe 1 Juv Ringed Plover 1 Curlew 1 Yellow Wagtail over 3 Meadow Pipit 1 Shoveler 1 Teal 4 Goldeneye c40 Goosander Swallows moving south a few House and Sand Martins

Adult Hobby sporting a smart pair of red trousers showed well for 20+ minutes

I Didn't have any bread, but they did move off more towards the centre of no 2, the closer I got whilst taking the pictures.

A lot of birds, but not much to stir the blood. Hirundines were probably the most noticeable, with c30 each of house and sand martins, and 80+ swallows. Also min of 6 swifts. Other counts were of 11 cormorants, 15 goosander, 4 common sandpipers and a single snipe which flew off. Dreadful lack of passerines (small flocks of starlings and goldfinches aside).
Greenshank, yellow wagtails and peregrine failed to show between 9 - 11:15 a.m. Presumed had moved on with improved weather. 30 swifts were in a flock as I left.

2 Little Egret 2 Terns were present for a couple of minutes first thing but flew high south, possibly Arctic but not totally sure on these. 1 Little Grebe 3 Goldeneye 200+ Tufted duck on No3 with more on No2, probably 250+ in total. 1 Pochard 4 Shoveler 3 Ringed Plover 1 Common Sandpiper

Two Black-tailed Godwits initially were joined by another 7 then all 9 flew off NE, after which another single appeared on no 1.

5/7/2018 some combined sightings from the last two days.
3 Black-tailed Godwit briefly this morning, 10 flew through yesterday. Male Ruff today. Common Sandpiper. 1 Ringed Plover. 4 Dunlin. 3 Raven over yesterday. 1 Common Tern today. 2 Mediterranean Gull today, adult and 2nd summer. 2 Goldeneye.

Probably a Goosander, but as I was travelling past on the motorway this morning a very long necked 'diver' looking bird flew across into number 3 reservoir. If anyone is not at work all day then might be worth checking.

Around 1.30 a Bar-tailed Godwit dropped in, it stayed until about 2pm when it flew off north.
Most waders were on the west side of no 1 with the smaller waders relocating to the islands

Quite a few casual visitors arrived around 2pm and the Greenshank was flushed several times.
A great selection of waders present today and great to see these birds in breeding plumage.
