A day away from the Moss yet all about the Moss
In front of Government Inspector (s)with respect to Planning for Everyone formally GMSF
Objecting to
JPA28...a plan to build 800 houses on the Greenbelt of Chat Moss 'near' to Irlam Railway Station....centring around Field Number 27
JPA29...a plan to build a whole swathe of Warehouses on the Greenbelt of Chat Moss at Barton...including Field Numbers 49/50/55
...so came the culmination of a whole host of people including CPRE/NE/LWT and the local Group which was formed 10 years ago (Action Against Rural Development) work in objecting to these plans
...my years of files now stored away...its over...no more meetings to attend no more hours at the computer objecting to the many iterations of this plan....
...The inspector(s) will decide then pass on his/their recommendations to the Secretary of State about this and all of the other plans in the PfE
which if approved will in my opinion severely affect GM's already beleaguered Wildlife...in this Nation which is one of the most Nature Depleted Country in the World...
Those Supporting the removal of the Greenbelt each had a KC (Kings Counsel) putting their case...
Whilst waiting to meet up with the three other members of AARD before we headed off to Manchester...a full day from 0730-1815 used up...noted on Irlam Moss

Hi Dean
The Most direct is I'm afraid straight along the A57 into Cadishead....not the best of roads for cycling...I used to use it to cycle to Woolston Eyes...
Once you have gone through the lights...which are AFTER the Warburton Bridge Turning.....turn left at the RAB.... into Cadishead and cycle until you meet New Moss Road....this leads to New Moss Wood and onto Little Woolden Moss Nature Reserve...I attach my field Number Map which I sent to someone who wanted to visit the Moss from Hollins Green but for your first visit I would aim for New Moss Road that leads you to Field Number 31 which is New Moss Wood....
A Green Sandpiper on the river Glaze, also 6 Teal on the river and a flock of over 80 Fieldfare in fields just on the Cheshire side of the Glaze. A flock of 208 Stock Doves(most I've ever seen in one flock)in one field off 12 Yards Road together with 11 Lapwing and a small flock of Chaffinch. 4 different Kestrels seen and a single Sparrowhawk were the only other birds of note.
