By the sound of it ,it could be the tame one from the flash a couple of months ago that liked its bread,and possibly the same one seen at Rhodes Lodge in Manchester.Lets hope its on its way back to the flash :)

1 female marsh harrier this morning I was at work in my taxi near plank lane swing bridge it flew over heading towards bickershaw rucks I thought it was an osprey at first until it got a bit closer I realised what it was. First timer for me as well a beautiful bird.

We saw what was probably the same flock and of a similar or larger number in the trees at the corner of Ashfield Road adjacent to Sainsbury's car park at about 16.50. They were flitting between the trees and the vet's roof, as well as the property across the road until they were finally put to flight by Nick Griffin's BNP battle bus playing land of hope and glory at the lights.
They had returned when we came back to the car park having made our donation to Sainsbury's.

Late report for yesterday lunchtime.
As I crossed Andrew Lane (Sharples, Bolton) a female Sparrowhawk flew across the front of me and landed in the nearest tree in the park. Did not have any binoculars with me but it was so close I did not need them anyway to get a cracking view.

Yesterday, 29th Dec about 20+ (what we presumed to be geese) grey with light patches under wings, flew in a V, over William Wroe golf course at about 15.20. Possible Greylag or Pink footed Geese ? Anyone seen any locally ?

Approx 45 - 50 Redwings very active on Brunswick Stree, Ardwick, about 1.45pm between the precinct and the Esso roundabout. Constantly being moved on by a couple of Mistle Thrushes.
