10am till 330pm, good numbers of pinkies over, aprox 500 , john lyon had about 350 and we had about 150 going east, also goosander, wigeon, buzzard and kingfisher from horrocks, willow and coal tits at bunting hide.

Sorry Dave, I went around the western and southern sides but not around the hides! They're usually best seen from Horrocks Hide but the water level looked fairly high though I'd expect them to be still visible from there. So try Horrocks Hide and failing that Tom Edmondson hide occasionally has one or two.

3 Arctic Terns currently present on the main water. A superb adult and 2 juv/1st winters.
Also an adult Common Gull sat on a bouy close inshore with metal BTO ring which I've just about read through 60x on the scope as the bouy slowly turned in the water. So we'll see what comes of that!
same as john plus golden plover and pinkies over, coal and willow tits in bunting hide, 10 seperate sightings of kingfisher.

1030 till 4pm, redshank, water rail showing well on and off in front of horrocks, 5 species of raptor today, john lyon had a female marsh harrier at about 1010 and also a peregrine before i got there.

Nothing more of note than what John saw the same day but just one more thing to add, later on around five thirty when the snipe all formed together feeding there was 13 of them all veiwing from horrocks hide.........
Yesterday from Horrocks Hide, all the usual stuff plus a single golden plover (winter plumage) and snipe.
Thanks to the kind gentleman who let my young daughter look through his scope at these birds, she was very excited as these were new ticks for her.

Nothing too unusual there Nigel. There are many Tufties on the flash with similar markings and the White blaze around the bill can be both considerable and striking.

Currently at the Lapwing hide and there appears to be a Tufty, but with a White base to the bill and a White under tail. If anyone else has seen this and identify please do!

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BUNTING HIDE
Due to essential pest control work, Bunting Hide is likely to be shut temporarily for atleast 5 days from next Monday the 14th September, although this may possibly be extended to up to 2 weeks if necessary.
Temporary feeding stations will be set up elsewhere near Horrocks and Ramsdale Hides.

i met the two johns on sunday in horrocks hide, hello there, Saw the tern later around fiveish but to far away to recognise which one it was, nothing else to add to the list apart from a few shoveler and gadwalls and a large flock of long tailed tits along the bushes near the teal hide, i was there all day and also did not see the black tern again,
